The UK will need to recruit around 250,000 construction workers by 2028 in order to meet demand.

According to the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), they have pointed out the shocking shortage of skills within the industry.
The CITB's Construction Skills Network estimate that there will need to be a growth in the sector of 2.4% between now and 2028, in order to meet housing demand. This means it would require over 250,000 extra workers!
The areas for growth are likely to be the following areas
Private housing
Infrastructure
Repair & maintenance
Not only is the construction industry battling with a skills shortage but mental health is also a big topic within the industry, with workers experiencing long hours, bullying and tiredness, the industry could find it difficult to recruit as many as required by 2028 if serious changes aren't carried out.
